Novak Djokovic

Tennis Player No.1 Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic wins Wimbledon and comes to World No.1
Novak Djokovic (Serbian: Новак Ђоковић, Novak Đoković ; born 22 May 1987) is a Serbian professional tennis player who is ranked the World No. 1 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) since 4 July 2011. He has won three Grand Slam singles titles, the 2008 and 2011 Australian Open championships and the 2011 Wimbledon Championships, becoming the first player representing Serbia to win a Grand Slam singles title and the youngest player in the open era to have reached the semi-finals of all four Grand Slam events, separately and consecutively. Amongst other major titles, he also won the 2010 Davis Cup.
He is considered the best male tennis player to come out of Serbia, the former Yugoslavia and the Balkans. Djokovic is also a double winner of the award The Best Sportperson of Serbia and award for The Best Sportsman by Olympic Committee of Serbia. He has been awarded with the Order of St. Sava, the highest decoration of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Novak Djokovic was born 22 May 1987, in Belgrade, Serbia, to father Srđan and mother, Dijana. His two younger brothers, Marko and Djordje, are also tennis players with professional aspirations. Since the end of 2005, Novak has been dating Jelena Ristić.[citation needed]
He started playing tennis at the age of four. In the summer 1993, the six-year-old got spotted by Yugoslav tennis legend Jelena Genčić at Mount Kopaonik where Djokovic's parents ran a fast-food parlour. Upon seeing the dedicated and talented youngster in action she stated: "This is the greatest talent I have seen since Monica Seles." Genčić worked with young Djokovic over the following six years before realizing that, due to his rapid development, going abroad in search of increased level of competition is the best option for his future. To that end she contacted Nikola Pilić and in September 1999, the 12-year-old moved to Pilić tennis academy in Oberschleißheim, Germany, spending three months there. At age 14, his international career began, winning European championships in singles, doubles, and team competition.
He resides in Monte Carlo, Monaco and has been coached since 2006 by a former Slovak tennis player, Marián Vajda.
Djokovic is known for his often humorous off-court impersonations of his fellow players, many of whom are his friends. This became evident to the tennis world after his 2007 US Open quarterfinal win over Carlos Moyà, where he entertained the audience with impersonations of Rafael Nadal and Maria Sharapova.[8] He also did an impression of American tennis great John McEnroe after his final preliminary game at the 2009 US Open, before playing a brief game with McEnroe, much to the delight of the audience. It is because of this jovial personality that he earned the nickname "Djoker", a portmanteau of his surname and the word joker. Novak Djokovic is a member of the "Champions for Peace" club, a group of famous elite athletes committed to serving peace in the world through sport, created by Peace and Sport, a Monaco-based international organization.
Similar to fellow pro Roger Federer, Djokovic is a self described fan of languages, speaking four himself: his native Serbian, English, German, and Italian.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day

Mothers are the place where love
Emerges from the earth,
And happiness rings out like bells
In honor of our birth.
Mothers are the sun that lights
For life our inner sky,
So we may know that we are loved
And need not question why.

Mothers are the moon that shines
Upon our black despair,
So even when we weep, we know
That someone's always there.

Whatever fear, or stress, or pain
Might them to anger move,
We know that underneath the storm
We have, always, their love.

What Makes A Mother

A mother can come in may forms:
A mother can be a woman who conceives, births, and raises a child given to her by God. She is what we as a society see as a mother.
A mother can be a young woman who finds herself pregnant, unable to parent, who chooses life for her child by placing him for adoption. In choosing life for her child she becomes a mother. She will not be that baby’s parent but she is his birth mother.
A mother can be the one who prays for a baby she does not carry in her womb. She becomes the mother and parent to a child given in adoption. She is there in the night, in sickness, in health, in joy, and in sadness. She is her mother.
A mother can be a woman who takes on the care of another’s children through foster care or guardianship. She gives her life to loving them. They see her as mother.
I read the story of a man who parented a little boy that he believe to be his biological son. At age 10 he found out he may not be his biological parent and considered leaving the child. I thought how sad. He is the only Father that child knows. He IS his father. Blood alone does not make you more of a father or not.
I am a blessed woman. God has blessed me by allowing me to be a mother to 4 wonderful children. Three of them I gave birth to. One we adopted. Yet I am mother to all of them. There is no difference. My love them will last a lifetime and is unconditional. I am their mother!
What a blessing from God to be called mother. It is my highest calling!

Yingluck vows to swiftly tackle nation's problems

Would-be prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra reaffirmed her commitment yesterday to a set of urgent tasks to tackle the country's pressing problems as soon as the new Pheu Thai-led coalition government is formally sworn into office.

Ms Yingluck yesterday reiterated the pledge, based on Pheu Thai's campaign platform, after chairing a meeting of the party's key figures and economic experts to discuss urgent measures to be implemented once the new coalition government takes office.
Ms Yingluck said the first task would be to press ahead with national reconciliation as soon as possible, with the Truth for Reconciliation Commission chaired by Kanit na Nakorn given a free hand to proceed with national reconciliation efforts.

She said the new government would also organise grand celebrations to mark His Majesty the King's 84th birthday on Dec 5 to show allegiance to the monarchy.
The next task would be to turn around the economy by curbing rising living costs, increasing incomes of the public and promoting government investment.
The new government would also restore relations with neighbouring countries and foreign countries at bilateral and multilateral levels.
It is also important to boost the morale of government officials so they can work more efficiently for the good of the public, Ms Yingluck said, adding that corruption is another pressing concern that needs to be tackled immediately.
Ms Yingluck said scrapping the Oil Fund to lower fuel prices is a crucial policy of Pheu Thai. This would bring down the price of premium petrol (benzene 95) by 7.5 baht a litre, regular petrol (benzene 91) by 6.7 baht and the diesel price by 2.2 baht.
Ms Yingluck said the new government would revamp the national health insurance scheme with the 30-baht healthcare programme revamped.
Drug suppression would be one of the government's top priorities too, she said.
She said all these policies would be implemented immediately after she is sworn in as prime minister and delivers her government's policy statement to parliament - a precondition to legalising the government's administrative power as required by the constitution.
Ms Yingluck said the make-up of the new cabinet would be clear after the Election Commission formally confirms the election results.
She dismissed suggestions that Pheu Thai would keep 10 key ministries to itself and said that forming a new cabinet is a tough task.
But she said those who would be picked to sit in the cabinet must have the proper credentials to be ministers.
As for the finance portfolio, Ms Yingluck said preference would be given to Pheu Thai MPs, although non-MP members stand a chance if they have suitable qualifications and have the same line of thinking as Pheu Thai.
She said the new foreign minister must get along well with ministry officials and gain recognition from foreign countries, particularly Cambodia.
The new defence minister should be able to communicate well with the armed forces, Ms Yingluck said.
She also said Cambodia has also written to congratulate her on her victory in the election.
Sanoh Thienthong, a Pheu Thai list MP-elect, said party executives have already finalised the cabinet line-up. All of the nominees for the cabinet posts are capable people and they are qualified for the ministerial positions.
The new cabinet has no members of the red shirt movement or of the Thienthong family, Mr Sanoh said.
Gen Panlop Pinmanee, Pheu Thai's campaign director in Lop Buri and former deputy director of the Internal Security Operations Command, said he did not want the defence portfolio.
He said former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra had asked him during a telephone conversation to oversee security affairs.
"This [probably] means being a deputy prime minister in charge of national security and this is just what I want," Gen Panlop said, adding that Thaksin, Pheu Thai's de facto leader, has yet to decide who would be given the defence portfolio.
A Pheu Thai source said Gen Traisak Inthararassamee, former chief of the 23rd Army Circle, has emerged as another contender for the defence portfolio.
Gen Traisak is also Thaksin's Class 10 friend from the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School.
Gen Traisak, now a Pheu Thai Party member, played a key role in helping Pheu Thai to secure many seats in Surin and Ubon Ratchathani in the election.
But Gen Traisak yesterday said he did not aspire to be defence minister and that he preferred to maintain a low profile.

Meanwhile, Thai Farmers Association vice-chairman Wichian Phuanglamchiak yesterday said many farmers nationwide opposed the Chartthaipattana Party taking the agriculture portfolio again.
Mr Wichian said the former agriculture minister from the party in the Abhisit Vejjajiva government had failed to solve the problems besetting farmers, such as drought, flooding and falling prices of farm products.

Of this, I think time will prove that it's not bad, but it must be like that. They both put their trust. In order to change some things.

Museum of the Descendants of the Dragon

One of the latest major tourist attractions to open in Thailand is the “Dragon Descendants Museum” in Suphanburi Province. Like the Erawan Museum in Samut Prakan that is shaped like a three-headed elephant, this museum is also a “Wonder of Thailand”. One of those rare places where perhaps the building itself is more interesting and beautiful than the artifacts it holds within. In the case of this museum, the building is in the shape of a giant dragon. It dominates the landscape as you drive towards the city pillar shrine. The brightly coloured dragon, which is made of fiberglass, is 135 meters long and 35 meters high. It is 18 meters wide.

The museum was designed to showcase the unique history of the Chinese people together with their culture and wisdom. Khun Weerasak told me that they decided to build the museum in the shape of a dragon as it is a symbol of China and recognizable around the world. It is also not the normal kind of museum where you wander around by yourself. You have to join tours that leave on the hour and every hour between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The multimedia experience is unique as it takes you through the history of the Chinese civilization though the use of light and sound shows. We started at the cradle of the creation of the world and then as we walked from room to room, we passed through various dynasties covering a period of 5,000 years. The final room told us of the origins of the Thai-Chinese people and how they have integrated with the people of Thailand. Chatting afterwards, Khun Weerasak told me that he hoped that the museum would inspire people to try and learn a bit more about the Chinese culture.

think Suphan Buri is starting to have enough tourist attractions now to warrant a visit. Maybe even an overnight stay.
